New iPhone Design Coming in 2022

11 Mar,2022 by Admin

Apple is planning to get rid of the notch in some of the iPhone 14 models that are launching later this year, with the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro max set to get a pill-shaped and circle cutout that will house Face ID along with a selfie camera.

This rumor has been going on for a while. Display analyst Ross Young recently reiterated his expectations for the ?iPhone 14? lineup and provided some color on what’s coming in the future. According to Young, the face ID cutout + camera cutout combination is going to be the same width as the notch, with some extra pixels above the holes.

We now know that Apple might ditch the notched display design and opt for a punch-hole display design. However, the regular iPhone 14 model might not receive the design upgrade. Young says that the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro Max will get the pill-shaped cutout, while the regular 14 will get the notched display.

Ross young says that there’s a chance the holes could get smaller in 2023 than they will be initially in 2022, freeing up some more display space.

According to some Chinese leaks via the social network Weibo, the camera cutout could initially measure in at 5.6mm.

Apple does have plans to eventually replace ?Face ID? with under panel ?Face ID? that would not necessitate a pill-shaped cutout for the hardware, but this technology is not expected to be ready for the 2023 ?iPhone? launch.

However, we have heard from a few sources that under panel Face ID won’t likely meet the timing for 2023 mass production. Part of this could potentially be related to coordination between the display and sensor teams. Of course, at least two of their suppliers would also have to be qualified to produce it in mass production. Companies we talked to did not expect it to launch in 2023..

Young says that Apple could use a different pattern for the cathodes that drive the OLED pixels, instead of using a “backside laser drilling.” Until now, Apple has reportedly finalized one supplier for mass production, but under-display Face ID isn’t expected to arrive early as Apple usually prefers dual-source components to cut down the costs and it still needs to find a solution to the above-mentioned issue.

Rumors suggest that the iPhone 14 series will come with up to 2TB of storage, 120Hz LTPO OLED panels.
The standard could pack a 6.1-inch display, whereas the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max model might offer a 6.7-inch screen.
These devices will likely be powered by the A16 Bionic chip.
